19-year-old cellist Christopher Ellis began his musical studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music with Aisling Drury Byrne. At the age of 17 he was offered a place in the prestigious Paris Conservatoire in the class of Marc Coppey. Recent festival appearance have seen Christopher play at ‘La Biennale di Venezia,’ the RIAM Chamber Ensemble’s tour of China and most recently the Piatigorsky Cello Festival in Los Angeles. Here, Christopher shared the stage of Walt Disney hall with cellist pedagogues such as Mischa Maisky, Frans Helmerson, Laurence Lesser, Giovanni Sollima etc.
