12 Henrietta Street 16-18th October 2015

To celebrate the launch the 2015/16 season we welcome you to 12 Henrietta Street on the 16th October for a short evening with guest performances from some of our musical friends from the past two years including Sue Rynhart and Dan Bodwell, Elva MacGowan, and Arun Rao cellist from Duo Chagall.

For Open House Weekend 17-18 October, we are holding an exhibition and installation in No. 12 Henrietta Street.

Explore No.12 Henrietta Street through the ears of the discerning Georgian gentry. Consider the positioning of musicians in the house to best achieve the most suitable and atmospheric effects. What instruments were played, where were they played and who played them? Were these Georgian houses designed for music, and why are they so successful as music venues, even today? This interactive installation will recreate eighteenth-century domestic music scenarios which can be experienced and altered by the visitor. This installation has evolved as a dissemination of doctoral research in eighteenth-century acoustics, and is part of the @TheDrawingRoom series of concerts in North Georgian Dublin Houses.
